I was riding on the train with people all around me.  Where was I going?  To the next fellowship group of believers that make up the North Shore Crossing network of churches.  Most are house churches or micro-churches located in neighborhoods and third-place locations (coffee shops, libraries, lounges, etc).  These groups are scattered throughout the city of Chicago, sharing resources and people.  The goal?  To have a church within walking distance of every subway stop in Chicago.  Better yet, to have a church within walking distance of every person in Chicago.

This is the vision God gave me in January 2010 when Beth and I came up to Chicago for a weekend anniversary getaway.  By faith we moved up to Chicago later that summer without jobs, and God has done the rest.

Special to me in this journey of faith is the Gospel of Mark.  It was written for people on the move.  Even for exiles–those who are being compelled by the Spirit to go to new places by faith in love and obedience to Jesus.  And that’s us!  Will you join us on our journey of faith?
